IBAC Welcomes Steven Abreu-Hill to the IS-BAH Team and Expresses Gratitude to Lawrence “Fletch” Fletcher for His Ten Years
MONTREAL – 1 November 2021 – The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) is welcoming industry professional Steven Abreu-Hill to the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH™) as the new Audit Manager. In addition, IBAC thanks Lawrence “Fletch” Fletcher who will be retiring this year after ten years of serving in audit manager roles for both IS-BAH and IS-BAO Programmes.
Industry veteran, Lawrence Fletcher, joined IBAC in 2012 as the IS-BAO audit manager. Fletch served his country in the US military, and later provided consulting services to business aviation companies regarding aircraft maintenance, pre-buy sales, and import/export of aircraft. Fletch was with ARG/US as an auditor before coming to IBAC and is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He will be working with Steven during a transition period.
As an accredited IS-BAH auditor, Steven Abreu-Hill is an accomplished aviation and ground handling operations professional with 16 years of combined experience in emergency response, safety, security, environmental, and SMS program development. Steven earned both a B.S. degree in Applied Meteorology and M.S. degree in Aeronautics Safety and Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Based in Houston, Texas, Steven helped coordinate emergency management programs for Houston Hobby airport (HOU) and George Bush International Airport (IAH) and serves as an emergency management point of contact for FBOs at both HOU and IAH airports.
Terry Yeomans, IS-BAH Programme Director commented, “My extensive gratitude goes out to my friend and colleague as he prepares for his next adventure at the end of the year. We accomplished much in both the IS-BAH and IS-BAO programmes because of his dedication and professionalism and appreciate his commitment to advancing these safety standards. Many thanks and best wishes, Fletch!”
Terry added, “We also want to send out a warm welcome to Steven Abreu-Hill from everyone at IBAC and I look forward to working with him. He is well versed on ground handling operations and the IS-BAH programme, and he will hit the ground running to fill Fletch’s shoes.”
Kurt Edwards, IBAC Director General said, “I wish Fletch all the best in his retirement and would like to share a heartfelt thank-you for his work over the past decade. I am confident that Steven’s auditing experience and knowledge of the ground handling community will serve him well in his new role. We are excited to have him join the IBAC team.”
